- We don't ask for your name, email, phone or address.

What data we process
The VIN you enter
We send it to NHTSA's public APIs to decode it. We cache (in Cloudflare KV) the technical vehicle data linked to that VIN — make, model, year, engine — for up to 90 days, to respond faster and avoid overloading NHTSA. A VIN identifies a vehicle, not a person, and we don't link it to any data about you.
Clicks to third-party services
When you click an affiliate link, we add 1 to a daily counter per service. We don't store your IP address or any identifier in that counter.
Visit statistics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which measures visits in aggregate and without cookies. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from attacks, under its own privacy policy.
Third-party sites
When you leave our site for NHTSA, NICB or a recommended service, that site's privacy policy applies.
Vehicle owner data
We don't offer owner lookups or personal information from motor vehicle records, which are protected by the federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act (DPPA).
Children
The site isn't directed to children under 13 and we don't collect data from them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above.
