I'm Mariano and I make VIN Fácil. It's an independent project: it doesn't belong to any dealer, insurer or report company.
Why it exists
Buying a used car in the United States is one of the biggest purchases a family makes, and much of the information is full of fine print. Many sites promise a "free report" that turns out to be paid. I wanted to do the opposite: show for free what really is free, in Spanish and English, and explain clearly what's missing.
How I work
- I only use official, public sources (NHTSA), and always cite them. See methodology.
- I never claim anything about a specific car that the data doesn't support.
- Guides are written and reviewed by hand, with update dates and sources.
- The site is funded by affiliate links, always disclosed. See disclosure.
